Editor's Letters

by T. Austin-Sparks

Theodore Austin-Sparks was the editor of the magazine “A Witness and A Testimony”, published in London from 1925-1971. His Editor’s Letters” contain deep spiritual insight and reveal many of the issues that he and others dealt with in their day-to-day lives. In his own words:

"The object of the 'Editorial' is to focus the whole of our essential and particular ministry upon some basic and inclusive feature. It is ever important, in the many aspects of the truth which have their place in this ministry, to keep always present something that will help to answer the question: What is it all about? That, then, is our object. The tragedies which thrust themselves upon our consciousness from every direction and in every connection—in the world and in Christendom—demand an explanation, and, although we are under no illusion as to the acceptance of the explanation, nor cherish any false hope that such explanation will make much difference, it has always been a part of God's way to speak, irrespective of acceptance or rejection, and to leave the issue with those who will give heed to the challenge."
